Demo: Voice Verification in online banking scenario Aug 21, 07

Head on to VeVerify.com for a demo of how Voice Verification might be integrated into an online banking application. The voice verification is done through the phone. In the demonstrated scenario, upon registration you'll need to enter a phone number where the system can call you to confirm fund transfers.

After doing this you'll receive an email with a phone number to call to register your voice print.

Complete the registration and then login to the demo bank account (on VeVerify.com) and initiate a fund transfer. The transfer will be on hold until the system calls you to authorize the transaction using voice verification.

Granted, the scenario needs some user experience tuning but, as far as the voice verification goes, it worked flawlessly for me even though I did the registration through skype-out while I had the authorization callback come to my cell phone.

Case Study: Automated Caller Identity Verification at AHM Aug 10, 07

TEN WEEKS! That's how long it took Australian Health Management , AHM, to develop and deploy an automated caller identity verification solution in their call center. Ten weeks from project kickoff to public availability. That must be a record time!

The voice biometric approach was brought up during conversations with VeCommerce about transaction automation through speech recognition. Melinda Charlesworth, AHM's Operations Manager, quickly recognized the potential and assigned a higher priority for this project.

They started with a two week consultancy project during which VeCommerce studied AHM's processes and systems. This resulted in a detailed proposal that addressed the business case, benefits, costs, payback and effect on customer satisfaction. Six weeks later AHM gave the green light to proceed with the project.

VeCommerce developed the speaker verification application on top of a Nuance voice biometrics engine. It took them seven weeks to build the application offsite and another three weeks of integration during which AHM (with VeCommerce's help) designed the registration and verification processes, recorded the scripts, trained their staff and ran user acceptance trials.
